Hello. This is Andrew Wommack and many of you have heard about the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Jesus said you would receive power after the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You may have even received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, which includes many things. It includes speaking in tongues.
What I have discovered is that many people have had this experience, they have spoken in tongues, but they don’t understand the real use and the benefit of speaking in tongues. They might do it when they first receive it, and every once and awhile – if they get really excited they might speak in tongues, but there is much more to it than that.
I have a lot of teaching on this, but just really briefly, the Bible says when you are speaking in tongues, it is your spirit that is praying. Then it gives you a command. “If you speak in tongues, pray also that you may interpret,” 1 Corinthians 14:13. When you are speaking in tongues, the BIble says you are praying the hidden wisdom of God.
Instead of this just being gibberish, or you are just saying something that gives you an emotional high, you are actually speaking in the “tongues of man and of angels”, 1 Corinthians 13. You are speaking the hidden wisdom of God. All you have to do is pray that you interpret. I can give you many examples of where I just had reached a place that it was beyond my human ability to figure out what to do. I would just start praying in tongues, believing that my spirit knew exactly what to do. I would ask God for an interpretation. I mean time, after time, after time I have seen God give me supernatural wisdom. It just transformed my life.
This very building I am sitting in right now, we bought this building, but it was going to take 3.2 million dollars to renovate. I tried to get a loan for 9 months they said, “Newt week.” But it never happened. Finally, I just said, “Look. Let me pray about it.” I knew there was something that I was missing. I prayed and said, “Father, when I speak in tongues, it is my spirit praying, the part of me that has the mind of Christ. You told me to pray that I interpret. I am going to start speaking in tongues, believing that I am speaking my answer. I ask you to give me an interpretation.” I mean within 30 seconds, maybe a minute maximum, all of a sudden God spoke some things to me that I had forgotten. Gave me direction and in 14 months after that, we moved in to this building. 3.2 million dollars worth of renovation – debt free – in 14 months because I spoke in tongues, believing I was speaking the hidden wisdom of God and asked God for an interpretation and He gave it to me.
Did you know if you have the baptism of the Holy Spirit to speak in tongues, you can do that? You have the answer on the inside of you. You just have to draw it out. Speaking in tongues is like a bucket. You put it in a well and draw out this wisdom. I encourage you to speak in tongues and ask God for an interpretation today.
