The second most important encounter that I ever had with the Lord – as far as affecting my life and ministry – happened on January 31, 2002. It took a couple of months to build up to this, but the Lord finally spoke to me through Psalm 78:41. Where it says, “In their heart, they turned back and limited the Holy One of Israel.” That was talking about the jews when they came out of the land of Egypt. God had plans for them of good things. He wanted to bring them into this Promised Land that had an abundance of all things, flowing with milk and honey. And yet, because of their disobedience and their unbelief, they rebelled at God and spent 40 years in the wilderness, until all of that older generation died away.
That was not God’s will. God’s will does not automatically come to pass. They limited God through their unbelief. God spoke to me that I was limiting what He could do in my life through unbelief.
