Hi, I am Jame Lyn Wallnau, the host of a podcast called “Set Apart”, and this is God Today. Have you ever felt really discouraged? Have you just had a morning where you woke up and you weren’t in a good mood, you weren’t happy, you didn’t know what to do? The last thing you felt like doing was praying. I have had so many of those moments, or maybe something happened that was really discouraging in life. And I have found the secret weapon for overcoming those moments. Even when I don’t feel like it, when I begin to thank God out loud with my words, it completely changes the atmosphere.
So, let’s say you are having a bad day. You don’t feel well, you don’t want to be thankful because it is the last thing you want to do. But you begin to say, “God, thank you. Thank you that you are good. Thank you for being Lord of my life, thank you, God, that you see me. That you see the situation I am in, that you are good and have a solution for it.” As you begin thanking Him – thank you for my family, thank you for food on the table, thank you that I have a roof over my head. Thank you for this comfortable bed I woke up in this morning. The small to big things – whatever it may be – thanksgiving completely shifts the atmosphere and takes us into the presence of God. And it totally changes the day.
Today, regardless of how you may be feeling, I want to encourage you to be thankful. You have the power of life and death in your tongue. As we declare life, everyone who is around us is affected by it in such a beautiful way. I would love to pray for you today. God, I thank you so much for my brothers and sisters who are tuning in right now. I thank you that you see them, I thank you that you love them, and I thank you for all you are doing in their lives. I thank you that you have good plans for them. I thank you for the spirit of discernment to discern your perfect will in their lives, to move forward powerfully and boldly in all that you have called them to.
