Hello, I am Andrew Wommack. God has done so many things in my life, but it all really started when I was seeking to find out what His will for my life was. I was just a nominal Christian at the time. I loved God, but I can guarantee you I would not have seen the will of God perfected in my life if I hadn’t have come to this place to where I wanted to know what God’s will was. It is my experience in dealing with other people that very few people have a confidence and an assurance that they know they are doing what God called them to do.
I want to share with you very quickly some verses that God used to transform my life. Romans 12:1-2 says, “I beseech you, therefore brethren, by the mercies of God that you present your body as a living sacrifice. Holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. Be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.”
The Lord spoke to me through that. That His will wasn’t about what I did with my life. It was about knowing Him personally, having a personal relationship, being a living sacrifice. That is God’s will. If God ever got my heart, then He would get my service. Instead of praying, “Oh, God, use me,” which was my prayer I had been praying for nearly two years. I quit praying, “God use me,” I started praying, “God, make me usable.” The Lord spoke to me and He said, “The reason I haven’t used you is because you aren’t usable.”
I think this is true, not only for me, but for so many people. We want to see God flow through us, but we just aren’t usable. There is a passage in scripture where Jesus performed many miracles in Jerusalem. It said, “Multitudes believed in Him.” Then it says, “He would not commit himself to them because He knew what was in man and He needed not that any man should testify of man.” He definitely wanted people to receive Him as Messiah. These people who believed in Him, wouldn’t commit himself to them because they weren’t yet mature. They weren’t ready.
One of the reasons people don’t see God use them is because they haven’t, first of all, become a living sacrifice. They just haven’t let God work in them to make them usable. I want to share with you, today, that God wants to use you, yes. But, He loves you more than He loves what you can do for Him. God’s real will for your life is to come to know Him in an intimate, close, personal way. That is God’s will for you. How He uses you is actually a secondary issue. I can promise you this. If you make yourself a living sacrifice and then renew your mind by the word of God, it will be impossible for you to miss God’s good, acceptable, and perfect will for you.
