Hey Dutch Sheets here, and I want to talk to you for just a moment or two about prayer. People ask me all the time about developing a prayer life; and do you know I say to them? I say, “Don’t start with quantity. Start with quality.”

God is far more interested in talking to you as a friend and a Father than he is you timing yourself for an hour or two or three. You will never develop a strong consistent prayer life by going for quality. Start developing a relationship with Him.

One of the words in the Old Testament for listening to Him is the word ‘eavesdropping’. You know, if you develop this kind of relationship, that same thing will happen with you that happened with Isaiah when he was in the throne room, and he overheard the Godhead talking. And what they said was, “Who are we going to send?” And he said “Oh send me!” And course the Lord knew he was going to hear that, the Lord was setting him up.  He wanted him to eavesdrop. God wants to talk to you. He wants you to hear what’s happening in heaven.

And I want to pray for you right now, that you will have ears to hear, that your relationship with Him will be enhanced. Father in Jesus’ name, I pray for all of our listeners and partners and people watching this right now, and I ask you to do what you said in Isaiah 50, that you would open their ear to hear. That you would give them ears to hear, that they would understand that this is not something we do out of legalism, or out of religion. This is something we do because we are your kids and we’re your friends. So teach them to hear your voice and develop a relationship with you that will cause them to want to pray and be with you every day. God Bless You.
