God is light. He doesn't just have light. He is light. And if you're in Him, He is your light...

TRANSCRIPTION

I’m Joseph Z, and I’ve got good news for you today. God is innocent!  Think about that phrase just for a moment. God is innocent. Let me give you a scripture and show you what I mean. In 1 John 1, starting out in verse 5, it begins to say here that,  “This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: that God is light.”  I hope you can hear this. God doesn’t have light, He doesn’t possess light. God is light.

Now, there’s many attributes to this, and I’ll give you just a little bit of it as we go into it, but God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. Now, here’s what I want to say about this. God is light and there’s no darkness in Him at all. Here’s why I say God is innocent, because many times religion comes along and it preaches a message or leads people to believe that bad things happen, because God is doing it to them. That God would cause something to take place or God may have not done it, but He will let the devil do it, or He makes under-the-table deals with the devil. Now, I just want to say something about this. God is light and there is no darkness within Him. God doesn’t tolerate darkness. He doesn’t want darkness. He has nothing to do with darkness. The only way God deals with darkness is by bringing Jesus as the light of the world to illuminate the darkness, and bring lost sons and daughters home to Him.

Now, let me say another thing about this. Psalm 27:1. Please pay very close attention to this. In Psalm 27:1, it says this,  “The LORD is my light and my salvation” (isn’t that powerful?) “Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life, of whom shall I be afraid?” I want to say this to you as clearly as I can. The Lord now is your light. So God is not only light, He has no darkness in Him. But here we see the psalmist, David saying, “The LORD is my light.”  What am I saying? Well, we have to recognize evil does not come from God. The book of James tells us that every good and perfect gift comes down from the Father of heavenly lights.  Again, the light of God, in whom there is no shadow or turning. God only gives good and perfect gifts. John 10:10, says that the devil comes to steal, to kill and destroy, but He came to give you life and life more abundantly.

The next time something you’re facing rises up, the next time you get attacked, the next time challenges come your way, it is not God doing it. God loves you and God is innocent. In no way is He bringing death and destruction to you. Rather, He’s providing the answer to deliver you from that fallen scenario. Remember, God is light. He doesn’t just have light. He is light. And if you’re in Him, He is your light, and that means this: only good things come from God. Only good. And if you begin to receive all that He has for you, you’re gonna walk an illuminated path.

The Lord is your light, your salvation. He is the light unto your path. Psalm 119 says His word illuminates your path. I really know that God wants you to hear this today. You might be going through the hardest time you’ve ever gone through, but I’ll tell you the first step to getting through it, to coming to the other side and receiving your promise, is to start truly attributing to God what He is. He is light. He is the answer. He’s not doing it to you. He’s saying, “Come to me, rest in me, run to me. I am your light and your salvation.” That’s what the Lord’s saying to you.

Jesus loves you. There’s nothing you can do about it, and I just want you to be encouraged today. Start changing your thinking. Change your heart that God is light and only good things is He bringing to you. It’ll give you more authority to overcome and win. I hope this helped you today. Jesus is Lord, I’m Joseph Z, and I sure look forward to talking to you again very soon.
