I want to encourage you today with the fact that salvation is truly a miracle. I know a lot of times we talk about miracles in the way of healing, and you know, other things like that happening in our lives. We see miraculous provision, perhaps. However, the fact that we believe in a God that we can’t see that so much in this world tries to distract us from, is truly a miracle.
And this actually reminds me of the parable of two sons in Matthew 21. Jesus says, “What do you think? A man had two sons. And he went to the first and said, ‘Son, go and work in the vineyard today.’ And he answered, ‘I will not.’ But afterward he changed his mind and went. And he went to the other son and said the same. And he answered, ‘I will go, sir,’ but did not go. Which of the two did the will of his father? They said, ‘The first.’ And Jesus said to them, ‘Truly, I say to you, the tax collectors and the prostitutes go into the kingdom of God before you. For John came in the way of the righteous. You did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes believed him. Even when you saw it, you did not afterwards change your minds and believe him.'”
And this is Jesus really giving correction to the religious people at the time who didn’t recognize who He was. Right? However, you know, it really goes to show that there are people who look like that, you know, prostitutes, tax collectors, or in this day and age, it might be people who are blatant atheists, right? People who reject God. And they at first say, “I will not go, I will not follow that God.” And then ultimately they do wind up following Him, right? And so it really goes to show us that we need to have faith for everyone.
And I know that maybe this is a little out of context for this particular story, but the other meaning that I’m extrapolating from it is that no one is beyond hope, right? It is a miracle that we as people who are followers now are saved, and it’s still a miracle and still pleases God when people who originally rejected Him do ultimately follow Him.
And so, I just want to encourage you today, that there is no one that is outside of His love, that is outside of Him wanting them to be in right relationship with Him. As long as someone’s heart is beating, there is hope for them. And so I just want to impart that hope to you today. I just want you to feel like, you know what? This person in my life might feel so far from knowing God’s love and really God is still after them and He wants them. And, you can actually be used today. A lot of times, we think this person, they know everything already. They’ve heard the gospel so many times, right? But, how many things do you know when you don’t do it yet, or you’re not actually provoked to action yet?
And so I am just praying today that Holy Spirit would guide you on the right thing to say, the right thing to do, and give you wisdom for how to reach the person who maybe thinks they know everything about God already. They’re not outside of His eye, nor are they outside of His desire. He wants those people. And so I just want to bless you today in having the wisdom to reach them.
