Hi, this is Bill Vanderbush with GOD TV and welcome to God Today. You know when Jesus speaks He creates realities. He says, “My words to you are spirit and they are life,” which is fascinating because the Bible also tells us and science affirms it, life is in the blood. So we could say it like this: the Word of God is to your spirit as blood is to your body.
Now He speaks for a reason, and He actually tells us three reasons why He speaks in John 15 and 16. There is a phrase that He uses there three times that goes like this: “These things I have spoken unto you so that…” The first thing He says in John 15, “These things I have spoken unto you so that My joy may remain in you and that your joy might be full.” The first reason God speaks to you is because He is trying to infuse you with His joy.
Later in John 16 He actually says to the disciples, “I’ve been talking to you and sorrow has filled your heart.” They had an inappropriate response to actually hearing a Word from God and if you have a filter a Word from God can come to you, and you miss the point totally, and actually have an inappropriate response.
The second reason He talks is found in John 16:1 when says, “These things I have spoken to you so that you will be kept from stumbling.” That’s righteousness. And the last one is the last verse of John 16 – “These things I have spoken to you so that in Me you would have peace. In the world you have trouble, but take heart, I have overcome the world.”
So He speaks for three reasons – Righteousness, Peace, and Joy. Do you catch it? “The Kingdom of God is not meat and drink, it’s righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.” Every time Jesus speaks, every time the Word of God comes to you, He is releasing a revelation of the Kingdom to you. And, may that be for you today.
Father, I pray that the revelation of the Kingdom of God will come to every person watching today. I pray that, Father, right now, you would give them a download of righteousness, and of peace, and of joy in the Holy Spirit, in Jesus’ Name.
