It doesn't matter how big the waves are, how big the storm is, if Jesus is with you, you're going to be okay.

Have you ever had friends that it doesn’t really matter what chaos is going on in their lifetime, they seem to be just completely unwavering and at peace no matter what? Well, there is a time when Jesus took His disciples across the sea and all they were trying to do was get across to the other side. This is in Mark 4:37-39, “And a great windstorm arose and the waves were breaking into the boat so that the boat was already filling. But He was in the stern (Jesus), asleep on the cushion. And they came to Him and said to Him, ‘Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?’  And He awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, ‘Peace! Be still!’ And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.”

You know, generally speaking, I’m a pretty good sleeper, but there are times when, you know, the winds of life and the storms of life can get really big, and all I can see is just how dark and stormy it is. You know, in those nights when I see that there’s dark clouds rolling in, I realize that I’m having trouble sleeping, because my eyes are on the storm, not on the Prince of Peace.

Now, how about you? Does that sound familiar? Are you navigating the seas of change, uncertainty, job change, any of these things? I just want to tell you today, that when you’re traveling on seas of uncertainty, that it doesn’t really matter how big the storm is, it matters who’s in your boat. And so I just want to just encourage you today that it doesn’t matter how big the waves are, how big the storm is, if Jesus is with you, you’re going to be okay. And you can look your storm in the face and say, “Peace! Be still!” because you have the Prince of Peace with you.

So God, I just thank you for everyone watching this today. God, whatever storms are happening throughout their lives, I just pray, Lord, that you are the One that they hear speaking peace to their storm. Lord, I pray for us to just fix our eyes on you instead of the things that feel like they’re going to overtake us. I just thank you, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
