Welcome to God Today. This is Dr. Nasir Siddiki, of course, of Wisdomministries.org. I’m so excited to share a word with you today. This is a very exciting thing that is happening right now with GOD TV, and I want to share with you about the word love. Love, agape. You might have heard that before but of course, in the Greek, there are four different words for love. This one specifically I want to go to a scripture in Matthew chapter 22. It says – and then one at verse 35 – “And then one of their number, a lawyer asked a question to test him.” So, we see here He’s got a whole group of people and Jesus is talking and teaching and then one of them, a lawyer decides he wants to test or check out Jesus. Wrong motive. Look at what he says. “Now teacher, what kind of commandment is great and important, the principle kind in the law. Some people say some commandments are light, which ones are heavy? And then Jesus replied, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and most important and first commandment.’”

Now, what did the lawyer do? He said, “Jesus tell us what is the greatest of all commandments” and Jesus has answered this question: Loving God is the greatest of all commandments. Now Jesus doesn’t sit down. No, no, no. He continues talking. He says, “and the second is like unto it.”  Wait a minute, Jesus. Who asked for a second? Nobody wanted a second, but Jesus insists on giving them a second. What was the second? The second is like unto it. What does the word like unto it mean? Of equal importance. Wow. “Like unto it, you will love your neighbor as yourself. These two commandments sum up and depend all the law and the prophets.”  So, Jesus said now the second is of equal importance as the first. What was the first? Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind. Love your neighbor as yourself. He didn’t say, love, your neighbor because your neighbor is lovable. Oh, come on now. We’re talking about the greatest power in the universe given to Christians today, the power of love.

Do you know that love is the only power in the universe that does not have the capacity to fail? Wow, and we don’t pick up this power. Why not? Well, I love all the time. No, no, no. Listen to me. You love your neighbor as yourself, love your neighbor as yourself. You see, if you can love God who you cannot see but you cannot love your neighbor as someone you can see, we got a problem. That’s why He said love your neighbor. In fact, I’ll go one step further. God measures your love for Him by your love for your neighbor, even if it’s your enemy.

Oh my goodness, oh my goodness. If you’re not loving your neighbor, you’re not loving God. So, every time you have unforgiveness, jealousy, envy, any of those things in your heart and you’re not loving your neighbor, you’re not loving God. The first and most principal commandment He measures your love for Him by your love for your neighbor.

Let me pray for you. I thank you, Lord, that the word penetrates into their hearts and produces 30, 60,100 fold in everyone that is watching me now, that they remember every time they get ticked off and say something, that they are not flowing in the love that you have for them. Let them love you the way they show it by loving their neighbor. We ask it now in Jesus’ name. Amen.
