So when I was 19 years old, I remember when I didn’t really know what worship was. I used to sing songs in church services. And one day in a church service, I really caught the revelation, what true worship is, where Jesus talked about those who worship the Father will worship in spirit and in truth. And even after that revelation and understanding what real worship is, just worshiping the Lord with your heart and adoring Him and just getting into His presence, I found myself after a few years, I would actually get bored sometimes in worship. And the Holy Spirit actually had to redirect my worship and remind me that worship is truly all about Jesus. And when we don’t focus on Jesus, it tends to get out of focus. It gets boring.
Do you ever find yourself getting bored in worship? Maybe you’re out of focus. Sometimes you might feel a little bit dry. And I have a 16 year old daughter. My wife and I, we’ve been married for 18 years and our daughter is getting to this age where she’s really starting to challenge us. And the other day she went to youth group and she told me that she was really upset and she was just kind of feeling empty and frustrated and unhappy just in general. And when I picked her up after youth group, she was so excited because she had actually really connected with Jesus like never before. And she came out of that place. We had such an amazing father-daughter connection, because she came out of that place saying, I feel so full and so full of joy and so at peace.
And I want to challenge you today, if you’re feeling empty or dry, or maybe you’ve even felt bored in worship or out of focus, refocus your life on Jesus. He is the one that orchestrates everything that is good and perfect in our lives as the Father’s will is over our lives. So I want to challenge you to focus on Him. Focus on Him in life, focus on Him in worship, and He will fill you with all kinds of good things to overflowing so that you can really feel fulfilled in life.
Father, today, I pray in the name of Jesus Christ by the power of your Holy Spirit, right now by your will. And I just released the revelation of worship where you said, “An hour is coming and now is when true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and truth. For such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers.” Father, we receive this happening in our lives today. We think that you’re seeking this in our lives, so we receive it in Jesus’ name.
