Paul said that the effect of it should be that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.

Hi, my name is Justin Evans and I’m part of the GOD TV team. Welcome to God Today. Today, I just wanted to share with you a prayer principle that I’ve learned over the years in particular from my mentors. It’s very powerful, because it’s scripture in praying for, especially those in leadership positions. But I just wanted to read with you from 1 Timothy chapter two, starting at verse one and go into about verse seven. It says, “Therefore I exhort, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God, our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself a ransom for all to be testified in due time, for which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle. I’m speaking the truth in Christ and not lying, a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.”

And so I just wanted to highlight the first two verses there. Paul says to Timothy, he says, “Therefore, I exhort first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men.” All men. Not just one, but all men. But then he also specifies a group of people. And he says, “for kings (or leaders) in all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.”  And as I demonstrate this prayer, I’m going to use some other places in scripture, one that talks about the blinders coming off of their eyes. And I believe that’s in 1 Corinthians. And then another that talks about the light of the glorious gospel shining brightly on their hearts. And so we’re going to pray that over our leaders, and if you’re in another country, that doesn’t matter, you can pray this over your leaders as well, because they need it. And remember that Paul said that the effect of it should be that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.

And so let’s pray today for all men and for our leaders. Amen? Father, we just come before you and we thank you for your word. We thank you that you said to Timothy from the apostle Paul, to pray for all men and to also pray for our leaders. And so we just plead the blood of Jesus over the United States of America (and if it’s another country, you can say your country) and we just command the blinders to come off of all of our eyes in Jesus’ name. Wherever hindrance to the truth has been put over our eyes, we command those blinders to come off, in Jesus’ name. And we just declare the light of the glorious gospel to shine brightly on each and every one of our hearts. And Father, we thank you, especially for those in leadership positions. Father, we thank you that these things happen, that the blinders come off and that the light of the glorious gospel shine brightly on their hearts. And daddy, that they may know the truth and that the truth shall set them free. And Father, we thank you that they repent and receive your mercy. And Daddy, if they don’t repent, we thank you that they get removed from their place of authority, and that other men and women would rise up; godly men and women that are full of the Holy Ghost that would get into those positions. That as the apostle Paul prayed these things or told us to pray these things, the end result being that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. And so Daddy, we thank you for these things today. We thank you for these changes being made, and we just give you praise and glory and honor for allowing us and empowering us to dwell in peace and righteousness and godliness. And we just give you praise and glory and honor for it in the Mighty Name of Jesus. Amen? Amen.

So that’s where that is. And, like I said, it’s all scripture, so you can look it up. The light of the glorious gospel, shine and brightly on their hearts and the blinders coming off of their eyes. And that’s for everybody in this country and around the world as you pray it. And praise God, He will make the changes, that He needs to make to get this place on the right track. Hallelujah. All right, well, bless you. And we thank you for joining us today.
