Do you need hope? And maybe you don’t need hope in all areas of your life, but maybe in your finances you need a little hope, or maybe in your relationships you need a little hope, or maybe you’re sick or something and there’s an area–it might not be your whole life–but you need a little hope.

Listen to this out of Romans 4:18. It says, “Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed, and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him. (Verse 19) Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead since he was about a hundred years old, and Sarah’s womb was also dead. (Verse 20) Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened by his faith and gave glory to God. (Verse 21) Being fully persuaded that God had the power to do what he had promised.”

Two things: Abraham, against all hope, he made a choice to believe when it didn’t look like it. He was old, his wife was old. You’re not supposed to have kids when you’re a hundred, but against all hope, Abraham made the choice to believe.

And the second part I want to encourage you with is in verse 21, “He was fully persuaded that God had the power to do what He had promised.” So what has God promised you? What has God promised you that hasn’t happened yet?

I want to pray for you right now. Holy Spirit, come. (I don’t care where you’re sitting or if you’re driving, you’re on the bus. Doesn’t matter). Holy Spirit, come right now and embolden–that He would embolden you, that He would empower you, that your faith would be built up to be fully persuaded, that God has the power. It’s not your power to make it happen. It’s not the preacher, your churches, or somebody else’s. The power for the promises in your life to come to pass is not in their hands. It’s in God’s hands. And so I just release over you a grace to be fully persuaded that God has the power to do what He’s promised in your life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
