There is a gift that you can give God today. Do you know that? Of all of the multitude of gifts that He gives us, there’s actually a gift that we get to give Him each day. Let me show you how. In 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, it says, “Rejoice always, pray continuously, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” Isn’t that the most amazing set of verses? And do you know what the gift is that you can give God today? It is your ‘yes.’
God gave us free will. He doesn’t make us do anything. He invites us into salvation. He lets us know what a righteous life looks like, sends the Holy Spirit to help us, Jesus paved the way for it to happen, and God the Father loves to help us walk it out. But every day you get to wake up in the morning and choose to say yes to God and His ways, or choose to say no and go your own way. It’s the most beautiful gift to be able to wake up in the morning and say, “God, I am fully surrendered to you today. I give you my yes.”
Can you imagine what that does to His heart? Can you imagine what it does? It puts a smile on His face. When you look at your Father in heaven, when you acknowledge what your Savior did, when you say yes to the help of the Holy Spirit today to walk through your life with Him. Ah, I’m telling you, it so blesses His heart.
So my friend, you have the power to wake up tomorrow morning and go, “God, I give you my yes. I’m excited for what this day will look like with you, what we get to do today.” You can do practical things like look at your calendar and ask Him to walk you through all of the meetings that you’ll have today. You can go on spontaneous adventures with Him, and when you go to the grocery store, say, “Lord, who do we get to encourage today? Who will I meet that just needs a touch of heaven today? Lord, how do I get to say something that is so personal to the person in front of me that they know that God knows them and sees them?” Ah, friend, it is a beautiful adventure to go on each day. So I want to encourage you to say yes to God each day and give Him the gift of your free will, and the adventure of doing life with Him today.
