I am Eric Gilmour with Sonship International. Welcome to God Today. The last verse of 2 Corinthians, Paul says something remarkable. He says, “The grace of the Lord Jesus, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Spirit be with you all.” What sticks out to me about this verse is the word “all”, which means He is expecting. He is praying for every last person to be included in the fellowship of the Spirit.
The word “fellowship” is beautiful because it implies a couple of things. Number 1, “time” enjoyed together, and “communication” enjoyed together. This fellowship of the Spirit for everyone is simply this: God has invited you into the enjoyment of fellowship with the Spirit. It is through fellowship with the Spirit that we apprehend, realize, touch the grace that is in Jesus Christ. It is through fellowship with the Spirit we realize the love of God. I submit to you that without fellowship with the Holy Spirit, we lose touch with the love of God. Without fellowship of the Holy Spirit we lose touch with the grace of the Lord Jesus.
Let me encourage you that God has invited you. It doesn’t matter who you are. It doesn’t matter what your daily routine looks like – if you are a mechanic, if you change diapers all day long, or if you preach crusades. This is God’s invitation with you to come and dine. To enjoy sweet, blissful fellowship with the Holy Spirit by which Jesus is touched and God’s love is realized. God bless you.
