To base your relationship with God upon covenant, you need to have a “no matter what” mindset.

Hello, my friends. I am Pastor Troy Brewer of Open Door Church. This is God Today. I know you know all about The Great Wall of China. We all do. It is incredible. China was so afraid of being invaded by warring nations to the North that they built a 6,000 mile long wall to protect themselves. It is one of the ancient wonders of the world. It was so high nobody could get over it. It was so thick nobody could tear it down. It was so long nobody could go around it. When it was finished the Chinese went home to enjoy their amazing security.

However, within 100 years, China was invaded from the North, no less than three times. The invaders didn’t go over, they didn’t go around the wall, all they had to do was bribe the gatekeepers. They marched right through that massive structure. If you can find one person who is not convenant-minded, then you can find a wall, no matter how big, that is irrelevant. It is like that with all of our lives. If we do not value covenant, our minds, our marriages, our money will be taken over by invaders.

You see, “covenant”, which is a sacred promise between God and you, is the only thing in the world that will cause God to respond. You heard me. The only reason God ever acts on your behalf is not because you are in pain, or you are sick, or there are trials, or there is poverty. No. This is what human beings signed up for whenever we turned against Him in the garden. God responds to covenant. When He responds to covenant, He is acknowledging our faith according to this covenant.

To base your relationship with God upon covenant, you need to have a “no matter what” mindset. You need to think on this – your job is to glorify God no matter what, when, or how. Good days, bad days, when things make sense, when they don’t. This is how the Bible puts it, “Therefore, whether you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” That is 1 Corinthians 10. Today is a good day to trust God to keep His covenant of mercy with you. To keep your side of the deal by glorifying Him with every single part of your life – if it is awesome, or it is not so awesome – no matter what.

Let’s pray. Father God, Sir, I come to you, Lord, and I thank you, King Jesus Sir, for giving us a grace to be covenant-minded people. Father God Sir, to guard the gates of our minds. Lord God Almighty. Father God Sir, to not cross off the places, God, that you have given us, but Lord God Sir, to keep the places you’ve given us. King Jesus Sir, we recognize, Lord God Almighty that you have paid an incredible price to put us in the covenant with you. We will not take it lightly. We love you, Sir. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen, Amen, and Amen. My friends, I am Troy Brewer, this is God Today. I call you the head and not the tail, above and not beneath, and highly favored of the Lord.
