Hello, I am Robert Gay and I am Pastor of High Praise Panama City, and this is God Today.  I am so glad you are watching, I am so glad you tuned in, and I believe God has something powerful to impart into your life today.

A question that was posed to me not long ago, by an individual, and they said, “Why should we praise the Lord?”  Have you ever thought about that? When should we praise the Lord? Could you imagine if I asked somebody to praise me?  Which I would not do, but if you imagine anybody who might ask somebody, “Would you praise me?” The first thing we would think is, “Man, they are really full of themselves, they are really an egotist, they think they are all that and a bag of potato chips.”

The reality is that God actually commands us as His people to praise Him.  One of the things we need to understand is that God did not ordain praise because He needed our praise.  God ordained praise because we need to praise Him. There are things that God instituted that happened within our lives on the other side of our praise.  Psalm 8:2 says this, “Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings, you have ordained praise because of your enemies. To silence the foe and to steal the avenger.”

My friend, do you realize whenever you begin to praise and worship the Lord, it is literally like gagging the devil?  You literally can cause the devil’s mouth to be shut in your lives, and you can cause all the activity that he is doing and stirring up to come to an end whenever you begin to praise God and worship Him.

God has caused praise and worship and has ordained it to be a weapon of spiritual warfare whereby we silence the enemy.  We know God is worthy of our praise. We should praise Him because we love Him. We should praise Him because He is worthy of our praise.  We also need to understand that God desires to produce blessings, breakthroughs, victory, and triumph whenever we begin to worship Him. I encourage you every day of your life to praise and worship God.  Don’t let it just be something you do on a Sunday morning whenever you attend church or a Wednesday night for some other type of special meeting. Let praise and worship be a lifestyle for you. Let it be something you do daily.  The Psalmist said, “I will bless the Lord at all times. His praise will continually be in my mouth.”

Whenever you allow the praises of God to continually flow out of your mouth, there is power released in your life.  I believe you can change the atmosphere in your home. If you don’t like the atmosphere in your home, start praising and worshiping God in your house.  Lift up your hands and begin to give praise and glory to the Lord. I know some family members might think it’s a little strange, “What’s happened to Dad, what’s happened to mom, or what’s happened, possibly, to our son?”  But let me say this, “You’ll begin to change the atmosphere of your household whenever you begin to praise and worship the Lord.

I want to pray for you today.  Father, I lift up those who are watching. I pray, Father God you will cause a lifestyle of praise to begin to be manifested within their lives.  I thank you, Father God, there is a revelation and understanding that you are bringing forth. Lord, that we not only praise you because you are worthy but Lord, we praise you because you have ordained it as a weapon of spiritual warfare to silence the enemy within our lives.  Lord, with the high praises of God, we execute your vengeance and your judgment upon the head of the enemy. I thank you, Father God, that that revelation will resound within our spirit. We will arise with power, and strength, and might. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen. That is it, my friend.  Make a decision today: I am going to live a lifestyle of praise, and I am going to cause the enemy to be driven away. Glory to God. I trust this has been a blessing to you. I am Robert Gay and this is God Today.
