...it’s not a conformity and uniformity. You become who you were really intended to be.

Welcome all the viewers from GOD TV. My name is Harvey Katz; it’s so great to be here with you today. I’d like to read for you from Matthew chapter 5 starting in verse 13, Jesus says this, “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned. It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled by the foot of men. You are the light of the world: a city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lamp stand and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven.

I remember C.S. Lewis speaking about salt. He said salt is something very strong. Everything that you put salt on, you’d think that it would impose its flavor on it. When you put salt on your tongue, it’s a very bold flavor, and you’d think that putting salt on meat and fish would impose its flavor, but it does the opposite. It brings the flavor out. Fish tastes more like fish and egg tastes better with salt on it and meat brings out the flavor with the salt. He also said the same thing about light. Light imposes itself wherever it goes. It’s so strong that nothing can hide; when you have a bright light it shines on everything. But it’s people in the dark that are all the same. Sometimes people are worried that if they become a believer or follower in Jesus that they’ll all be the same. But the truth is the opposite. You become who you were intended to be. So when He says, “you are the salt of the earth and the light of the world,” it’s not a conformity and uniformity. You become who you were really intended to be.

Let us pray. Father, we thank You that knowing Jesus; having this relationship with Jesus is the most wonderful relationship on earth and it doesn’t limit or restrict us; it sets us free to become the person that we were meant to be. I pray today, Lord, for all of our viewers, that they would know who they are in Christ. That they may be the salt of the earth and the light of the world through Jesus Christ, Yeshua, our Savior Messiah. Amen.
