Hello, I’m Pastor Richard SUmmerlin of New Way Church in Palm Coast, Florida. Welcome to God Today. I want to take a few moments to talk to you about relaxing. We need to learn how to relax. Too many people are busy. I remember a quote form one of my heroes in the faith, Lester Sumrall. He said, “People who are busy are either doing the wrong thing, or they don’t know how to schedule.” That’s pretty powerful, it’ll hit you right between the eyes.
I have learned – through the years – how to relax. I learned in the scripture that God says He will give you the desires of your heart. A lot of times we get caught up in being busy all the time. Busy, busy, busy. More money, more things. Sometimes you just need to position yourself where you can relax a little bit. You can just hear God sometimes. I will tell you right now. This might be a little strange to you, but I hear God a lot when I am fishing, when I am alligator hunting. Yeah, some of you know me, some of you don’t. But, I love alligator hunting. When I am out on that lake, and I put life aside, just makes time, or puts you in a position where you can hear from God.
I am telling you this today. You need to learn how to get away. Whether it be an island vacation, get over yourself. The work will be here. The thing will be here when you get back. Remove yourself from day-to-day life. Position yourself where you can unclutter, declutter, and just hear from God. Allow God to bless you. God really is a blesser. He wants to bless you. Against what you think, He wants you to have a vacation. He wants you to have time on the beach or whatever it is you like.
I am going to pray with you today. I am going to ask God to help and to lead you into some relaxation. Lord, I pray right now for every person. Maybe they have been too hard on themselves in the grasp of day-to-day life. I pray today, Lord, that you would open up their hearts. They would understand they need to relax. They need time with you. I pray you would open up that door for them. Every person, Lord, I pray that door would be opened. The money comes, the time off comes. In Jesus’ name, I call you blessed. Amen.
