Hello, this is Andrew Wommack and I just wanted to share with you the thing that literally transformed my life. I got born again when I was 8 years old. I loved God, I was seeking God, but I just couldn’t understand how God loved me because I would look in the mirror and didn’t like everything I saw. I would search my mind and my emotions and I was an introvert. I was fearful, I was scared. I just didn’t like me. If I didn’t like me, how could God almighty like me? I mean, it was a struggle.
The Lord revealed to me that when I got born again, 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “If any man be in Christ, He is a new creature. Old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new.” That isn’t true about my physical body. My physical body is the same. I still looked the same, you could recognize me. It wasn’t true about my mind. I still had my emotions, my memories, my childhood I grew up with. My body and my mind didn’t change, but in my spirit, I became a brand new person. This is what changed my life. I began to realize that the real me isn’t this physical body. It isn’t my mental, emotional part. The real me is my born again part. I am a new person in Christ. I began to start studying the Word and seeing scriptures like Ephesians 4:24 which says, “Put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.” It didn’t say you were growing, no. You were created this way. The moment you got born again, you were created righteous. Truly and holy and right standing with God.
See, in your body you aren’t righteous. You do things that are wrong. In your mental, emotional part, you think and feel things that are wrong. You aren’t right in right-standing with God in your body and your soul. But, in your spirit if you have been born again, you are a brand new person and you were created righteous. There are other scriptures like 1 John 4:17 that says, “Herein is our love made perfect that we may have boldness in the day of judgment. Because as He is [talking about Jesus] so are we in this world.” See, I used to stumble over things like that because I would look in the mirror and think, “Man. This isn’t like Jesus.” Then I would search my mental and emotional part and say, “This isn’t like Jesus.” I just thought, “Well, the Bible is so hard to understand.” It becomes crystal clear when you understand you are three parts. It is your spirit that God changed. You can’t see your spirit in the mirror. You can’t feel your spirit with your emotions, but you can go to the word of God and see your spirit.
The Bible says, “As Jesus is so are you in this world.” When I saw that I began to start changing my identity. I became a new person and the power of God started flowing through me. I believe the same thing will work for you. I pray that you would get ahold of the revelation I have entitled Spirit, Soul, and Body.
