Hello, this is Robert Henderson with Robert Henderson Ministries and this is God Today. I know there are a lot of people that maybe are watching GOD TV and are a part of this endeavor, this broadcast. And maybe you are looking for a spouse. Maybe you are a woman looking for a husband, or a man looking for a wife. That is a very appropriate thing. Don’t feel guilty or ashamed concerning that. The Bible says that “He who finds a wife finds a good thing.” Not that a woman is a thing. And it says this, “And obtains mercy from the Lord.”
See, my wife minsters mercy into my life. She is an example of God’s favor, kindness, love, and mercy towards me. I would say this – I would tell you that you probably won’t find the one that God has for you until you are satisfied with who Jesus is by Himself in your life. Because I will promise you, no person can fill that void. Nobody can. Only God can.
When we come to that place that Jesus is what I need, then watch as God will then begin to move and He will begin to bring those into our lives that He has appointed for us. See, what happened to me was, my wife and I found each other, if you will because my mother actually pointed her out to me. She said to me, “Have you noticed this girl?” Well, the truth was I had. But when my mother actually said that, it brought approval, and encouragement, and boldness to step out and begin to develop and cultivate a relationship with Mary, my wife. And now we have been married for 42 years. I mean, that is a long time. But it was because – watch this – the reason we are married today is that when we got married we put God in the very center of our home.
I said, “I am going to learn to love my wife like Christ loved the Church.” And my wife said, “I am going to adapt myself to my husband even as we are to adapt ourselves to Jesus as the head of the Church.” I want to encourage you. God has that special one for you. But I said to the Spirit, “Sometimes what has to happen for that One to come to us, is God has to do the deep necessary work in our own hearts that is needful before God can bring us together.”
Let me pray for you. Father, I pray for those that are watching today. I pray peace over their lives and I pray you would become everything to them. But in the midst of that, I also know you said to Adam and Eve, “It was good” when they were created for each other. Would you bring to these, those that are waiting on and looking for the one that is to be their spouse? Would you provide for that? That the deepest longings for their hearts might be met. And their dreams might come true. Lord, I am asking, bring the man or woman of their dreams to them right now. In Jesus’ name. Amen. Lord bless you.
