Hello, my name is Shirley Seger, welcome to God Today. Today I want to share with you about your guardian angel. You know you have one, we all have one, the Bible says so. In Hebrews 1:14, When I asked the Lord, “What is a guardian angel?” I have been asked that so many times I wanted a good answer. So, I always send people to Hebrews 1:14. It says, “Are they not ministering spirits sent out to minister to the saints?” I like this one better, “Or the heirs of salvation?”
What I do is I look up the Hebrew, the Greek, and the Aramaic. What does the word “minister” mean? So, that verse could be understood this way as well, “Are they not spirits who attend to the needs of the saints? Okay. That is what your guardian angel does. I am going to tell you a story about my guardian angel when I met him face to face and how he was used by the Lord to actually save me and my sister.
This story is about a stalker. It was the neighbors who told us about the stalker. She came up to our door and she said, “I have to tell you that I have seen a man outside your window, walking around and it appears to me in my spirit that he is looking for a way in. Now, I really think that you all should call the police.” Of course, we were young, I think I was in my 20s or so. And we were two young girls, we hadn’t married yet, we were living together. So we called the police and the police came, he was very nice, a very nice man. And he said, unfortunately, there is nothing I can do for you until a crime is committed. But, I will patrol the area and look for the license plate that you have given us. But there is nothing I can do. I can’t arrest him, I can’t do anything until something happens and I am very, very sorry. I hope that brings you comfort.” It did a little bit, but when he left we were on our own.
We went into her room and we barricaded the doors and being young girls, we stacked empty pop cans up in a row, so at least if somebody came in we would hear. My sister wasn’t much of a believer but I was. So we went to bed and we tried to get to sleep and that is when I prayed. I said, “Lord, please help us. I don’t ever want to live in fear and I don’t want my sister to live in fear. Would you please give us comfort? Make us feel safe. Put us under your wings, and guard us against this gentleman.”
I squeezed my eyes shut and desperately tried to go to sleep. I fell asleep and then in the middle of the night, I woke up. The room was all ablaze with light. And my face was buried in the pillow, and I thought, “Maybe my sister was up reading, or maybe she left the light on.” I turned around and that’s when I saw what was lighting this room was about a 9 foot, angelic being. I will briefly explain it to you. We only know when we can only reference things we have learned here in our world. I am going to say what it looked like. It looked like chiffon, like wavy on the sides. But mixed with a hazy mist. And I quickly looked over at the door, and I said, “It is undisturbed. How did you get in here?” And I met her eyes. I locked eyes and I will never forget those eyes. They were full of the most amazing love I felt it just bask over me. All fear left, you could not – fear cannot exist in that kind of love. All of a sudden, I started getting really, really sleepy. I looked at her and I said, “You must be from God because I am not afraid of you.” I fell asleep.
In the morning, I said to my sister, “Okay. I know you think I am weird and everything. I have to tell you what I saw last night.” And without skipping a beat she said, “Oh yea, I know. I saw her too. At the foot of the bed, the lady?” That was a confirmation for me that God is looking over us and we are buried under the shadow of His wing and I am here today to tell you so are you. You have to find comfort in the Lord and in the Lord only. Because when you give Him your faith, He will deliver for you. I promise. God bless you all very much.
