Hello, my name is Kimberly Thomas with God Today. I am bringing you the scripture and, hopefully, a word of encouragement as we read through the Psalms today. I want to bring to you Psalm 5:11. The scripture says, “Let all who take refuge in you be glad. Let them sing for joy and spread your protection over them. That those who love your name may rejoice in you.”
My encouragement to you today is that you rejoice in the Lord. The Lord’s protection is about you. In Psalms, we understand that David understood the calling on his life. He understood the battles that were before him. Each time he went into battle, he sought the Lord for His guidance and His wisdom. When he went into battle, he understood he would come out the victor.
In the midst of that, there were times of lamenting and wondering if the Lord was really going to protect him from his enemies. The psalm tells us that God protects us from our enemies. He protected David from his enemies. In Psalm 34:19 it says, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers them out of all of them.” It says, “But, the Lord comes to rescue each time.” Even in our righteousness, sometimes we endure afflictions. The Lord says that each time an affliction comes, He is there to deliver us from those afflictions. He is faithful to do that.
I want to encourage you today – those of you who feel afflicted. If you are having financial difficulties, or relational difficulties, or health difficulties, or even difficulties on your job, or work, or employment. If those feel like afflictions to you, God is here and He is able to deliver you from all of those afflictions. Prophetically, I want you to receive the Word of the Lord, that He is faithful to protect, He is faithful to deliver, and He is faithful to come and rescue you – each time you feel that affliction. So, the Word says that “Fear not. Be glad and rejoice.” My encouragement to you today is that. Be glad in Him, rejoice in Him, and fear not. For the Lord, thy God is with thee.
