What a wonderful, wonderful comfort it is to know that no matter how many storms we may face in life, that we have a Savior who wants to draw near to us and who tells us to fear not.

Hello, my name’s Emma Abbott and I work here at God TV. Welcome to God Today. You know, it’s interesting, isn’t it? That no matter how long we’ve been a Christian, we always get to learn new things. As I was just flicking through social media this morning, I saw something which really struck me. It was just a meme. And on that meme, it said, the words “fear not” are in the Bible 365 times. 365 times, the Lord says, “Fear not.” Isn’t that amazing! Once a day for every day of the year, the Lord tells us to fear not.

Now these have been difficult times around the whole of the world, we’ve had experiences of fear. We feel fear in our hearts for what we see in the media. We feel fear in our hearts for what we see happening to people around us. And we wonder where is the hope, but the Lord tells us to fear not. In Joshua 1:9, we read this: “This is my command. Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid, do not fear or be discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”  It’s a beautiful truth that no matter what challenges we face in life, we need not fear. We are told aren’t we in the New Testament that we do not have a spirit of fear, but of love and of self control and a sound mind.

What a wonderful, wonderful comfort it is to know that no matter how many storms we may face in life, that we have a Savior who wants to draw near to us and who tells us to fear not. And why? Well, Jesus’ last words to His disciples were to give them the Great Commission. To go into all of the earth, all of the nations and share the good news. And He says, “take heart, take heart, because I am with you until the end of the age.” And if God is for us, then who or what can be against us? We know that there is a very real threat: the enemy. We’re told that he prowls like a lion waiting to devour anything that comes into his path. His only mission is to kill, steal and destroy. Well, we serve a redemptive God, we serve the God of the Gospel. We serve Jesus, who is the Good News, the Alpha, the Omega. We know the beginning from the end. Therefore, we can take courage today, friends. We need not fear. Fear not, because we know Him who is in us is greater than him who is in the world.

I want to pray for you today. Lord Jesus, I pray for everyone watching today that they would walk in the hope that you carry, Father. Lord, would you, I just command actually right now for fear to be gone in Jesus’ Name, for there to be no more fear in your heart, take courage, be strong and courageous. Father God, pour your love out upon everyone this day and cast out all fear, in Jesus’ Name we pray, Amen. Well, thank you for listening to me today. I pray that you have a wonderful day until soon,  goodbye and God bless.
