Right in the middle of my prayer, the Lord stopped me and said something really profound that has helped me to this day. He said, 'I washed the feet of Judas.'

Hi, I am John Guido. Welcome to God Today. It is a real blessing to be here with you from Israel during this historic time. It is my first time in Israel, it is a historic time and also a time of conflict.

Maybe some of you are going through a conflict at this time in your life, and I want to talk about that. Maybe somebody is rubbing you the wrong way. Maybe just like what is happening here historically, maybe God has something planned for you and the person who could be rubbing you the wrong way. Many years ago, in my life, there was someone rubbing me the wrong way in my life, in my personal life, in the church. I really went before God and prayed and asked God to deal with that person. Really, my prayer wasn’t really positive. Right in the middle of my prayer, the Lord stopped me and said something really profound that has helped me to this day. He said, “I washed the feet of Judas.”

I had to look it up, I couldn’t find it. I thought, “Maybe this isn’t God.” I looked it up there in John 13, where it appears. Definitely it is very clear that Jesus washed the feet of Judas, even when He knew he was going to betray Him. As soon as I saw that in the scripture, I just had a vision of how lovingly, tenderly, even though Jesus knew that Judas was going to betray Him, that He ministered to Him and washed his feet. I felt very touched by that person who was rubbing me the wrong way. Perhaps it was God, allowing to do things in my life and calling me to love Him, serve Him, and find a way to minister to that person. I am really glad He did because later on that person died and I am so glad that I was able to love him and serve him, and not send him on the way with any kind of bitterness or resentment in my heart.

I just pray that God would help you also, to open your heart, to wash the feet of someone who maybe is rubbing you the wrong way. It could be God. Proverbs tells us that, “As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens the confidence of his friend.” Maybe those sparks are flying in a certain relationship. I pray God would give you the grace, as He gave me, to wash that person’s feet, to love them, and care for them. It is a blessing to be with you today. It is a blessing to be here in Israel during this time. May God give you the grace to watch that person’s feet in your life.
