Welcome to our broadcast today! Mitch and I are having a conversation about the Gospel. Very often, people, when they’re sharing the Gospel, there’s so much to include. So how do we share it in a really concise way and keep the really most important things in there? Any top tips?

Well, it’s not easy. William Abraham, in his book, The Logic Of Evangelism, He had like three components. Michael Green in his book, Compelled By Joy, fabulous book, he had five. I’m going to push out seven today. So if you’ve got a pen on paper, these are like seven key points when sharing the Gospel with people.

The first one is this: that God is the God who was there from the beginning. You have two options: in the beginning, God, or in the beginning, no God. And as Christians, we believe that God was there from the beginning.

The second point is this: that this God can be known and wants to be known. This is unlike many other faiths. For example, in Islam, Allah, you can know about him, the 90 something different characteristics that it speaks of in the Quran, but you can’t intimately know Allah. Whereas in the Christian faith, not only can you know God, but He wants to be known.

The third point is this: that this God is a rescuer and this is the corner of the Christian faith, really, isn’t it? That Jesus Christ died on the cross for the sins of the world and rose again on the third day. God is a rescuer.

The fourth point is this: that this God is a transformer, that He changes us from the inside out when we decide to follow Him and make Jesus our personal Lord and Savior. When Jesus was speaking to Nicodemus, He referred to this idea of being born again. That’s right! Transformed from the inside out.

The fifth point is this: that not only does He transform us, but He empowers us through His Holy Spirit. He equips us supernaturally to be His witnesses.

And that follows on to the sixth point is this: He is the God who sends us out. He is the God who sends us into the world on our Great Commission: Go into the whole world and share the good news.

And the last point is often overlooked. Amanda, one of my favorites is this: Jesus is coming back. Amen?! He is the God who is coming back. So that’s kind of seven key components of the Gospel.

That’s great, and hopefully you’ll find that really helpful as you consider communicating the Gospel. And maybe you’ve heard the Gospel for the first time today. If you want to find out more about the Christian faith, why not ask a Christian friend or get in contact with a local church?

Let’s pray. Father God, we thank you that your Gospel is good news, that you are the God who pursues us and loves each and every one of us. Thank you for Jesus. Amen.
