Hello GOD TV, I am Eric Gilmour with Sonship International. In Psalm 23 there is a phrase that is very, very precious. He says, “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.” I want you to think about what David is trying to get us to see. Can you think of being surrounded by physical enemies with physical weapons? I was once preaching in a very hostile part of the world and I was surrounded by another religion that is very hostile and this verse came to my mind because David shows us something about God’s heart.
Even in the midst of potential dangers, when there really are physical weapons that can physically kill you and these men surround you, I want you to think about that. Can you picture yourself standing there and a whole army surrounding you? And then you turn to look at God and see what He is doing and He’s spreading a table for you. God is not even concerned with it. God’s mind isn’t on what’s going to happen. He has one thing that is constantly on His mind and it is this. “Will you eat with Me? Will you sit with Me and dine with Me?”
I don’t know where you are right now and what is going on in your life. Maybe you would say, “But Lord, you don’t know my husband…” The Lord is saying, “Will you eat with Me?” Or, you may be saying, “You don’t know my job situation, our money, our finances and the Lord looks at you and says, “But will you eat with Me?” “But Lord you don’t understand there is this, there’s that and the other.” The Lord has one thing on His mind, and it is this. “Will you eat with Me?”
I pray that even now you would hear the invitation of God right in the center of your circumstance and you would hear Him, asking you, “Will you eat with Me? Will you sit down at the table with Me and eat of the bread that comes down from Heaven? So that you may receive the nourishment, the nutrients to have My nature in every situation.” God bless you.
