I am a dreamer. I have been having dreams at night for as long as I can remember. Dreams where it’s like I’m in a movie, dreams where it is just an ongoing story. Sometimes I’ll have dreams where there’s a theme for like a whole week. For example, in the last week I keep dreaming that I’m holding a baby, or I’m holding someone else’s baby, or suddenly there’s this baby with me. I also have had dreams where I’m driving in a car and it turns into a bicycle. And, the feeling of the dream is that God is doing something new in my life and He’s trying to show me something.
And so, though I don’t always know the meaning of the dream, I steward my dreams. I write them down, and then I ask the Holy Spirit to show me what He was trying to say in that dream. I also ask Him if I should keep hanging onto this dream or if I should just let it go.
And so I just want to encourage you today that if you are dreaming at night at all, or if you want to, write your dreams down and pray through them. You may not get the answer right away. But I’m telling you, God, He’s even shown me months later, “Oh, you were dreaming this because…”
I used to have the same dream in the same month, on the same day for years, and God was trying to teach me how to steward money. And when I finally realized what He was showing me in those dreams, I was like, Oh, wow! Now I know how to steward my money well, and then I stopped having those dreams.
And so I just want to encourage you today, if you want to dream, ask God. If you are dreaming and it’s frustrating you, write those dreams down and pray through them. So if you want to actually receive dreams in the night, just receive this prayer.
Holy Spirit, I pray that you minister to our friends, God, who are watching this right now. Minister to them in their sleep and show them what they are dreaming. And I pray, God, that they would begin to steward those dreams and realize that you are with them while they sleep. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
