Picture a radio in your mind. You’ve got a radio, it’s got its speakers and then it’s got the little dials, and you have to choose AM or FM and then you turn the little dial until you hear music playing, or somebody’s voice playing and know that you’ve hit on a station. Our spirits and our minds are just like this when we’re tuning in to the voice of God, and it’s a beautiful way to visualize how we get to hear what He’s saying.
So as you go through your day, say to Lord, “Lord, I’m so interested in going through this day with you and hearing you clearly.” Isaiah 30:21 says, “You will hear a voice behind you telling you which way to go, ‘Turn to the left or turn to the right.'” That’s how personal the Holy Spirit wants to be in leading and guiding you and walking through the day with you today. So what I imagine is each morning I wake up and I go, “Lord, let’s tune the receiver. Am I receiving your channel? Am I receiving what you are sending and can I hear it clearly?” Right?
And as you walk through the day, the more you get to do this, the more you realize that your radio stays permanently tuned to the Holy Spirit’s voice and it becomes a journey of discovery. And each day go, “What are you thinking here, Lord? How do you feel about that, Lord? What do you want to do about this?” He loves the questions and He loves talking to you and hearing what you have to say as well.
So this is an invitation for you today, my friend, that as you put your receiver on, as you ask the Holy Spirit to help you to stay tuned to His frequency, you get to walk and talk with Him all the way through the day. And it’s beautiful, because not only do you get wisdom and guidance for yourself, but you’ll get ways to bring His beauty and His joy, and His kindness and His goodness to the world around you, too. It is a great adventure to be on. So say yes today, tune your receiver to His channel, listen to Him, and have fun today.
