Hello, everyone.  I am Ward Simpson, President and CEO of GOD TV.  I want to thank you for being a subscriber to God Today.  Thanks to your giving, thanks to your partnership, thanks to your gifts, we are able to take this gospel message of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth.

Today I want to encourage you with this passage of scripture from Proverbs 3, it says, “Trust in the Lord with all of your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.  But, in all of your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.” What are you going through today? What are you going through this week? What path do you have to cross?  What decisions do you have to make today?

The Bible says, “Trust the Lord with all of your hard and do not lean on your own understanding.”  Don’t lean on your own education today. Don’t lean on what men or women might be telling you. Don’t lean on what you are thinking.  But, lean on the arm of the Lord. Trust in the Lord with all of your heart. Lean not on your own understanding, but in all of your ways, acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.

You know, I had trouble with that scripture because I have come to crossroads in my life, but I did not have direction.  I began to pray and to study that verse and I find that that word “acknowledge” in Hebrew is the word “yada.” It also means to know someone intimately.  That changed my whole outlook on that passage of scripture. Trust in the Lord with all of my heart – yes, I was doing it. Lean not on my own understanding – I wasn’t doing it.  But, in all of your ways, know the Lord. Know Him. Know Him intimately, and He will direct your path.

I want to encourage you today, dear friends. Get to know the Lord. Get to know your Father. Read His words. Spend time in prayer. Get to know the One who loves you and died for you and is coming again for you. When you get to know God and you get to those crossroads in your life, you know what He likes. You know what He doesn’t like. You know where He goes and where He doesn’t go. You’ll get to know Him, and you’ll get to know the decisions He’ll make. I encourage you today, dear friends. Trust in the Lord with all of your heart, lean not on your own understanding, but in all of your ways know Him, and know Him intimately.  In Jesus’ Name. God bless you.
