Seek Him First

Transcript

Hi, I’m Danny McDaniel, pastor of Bethel Dallas Church in Lewisville, Texas, welcome to God Today. I want to visit with you for a couple of moments, about some cause and effect principles of the Kingdom of God that really should inspire you. I am going to take you to the verse Matthew 6:33. That happens to be my and my wife, Diane’s, personal mission statement – actually our family’s mission statement. The reason is this verse has two parts. Jesus said in Matthew 6:33, “But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Let’s take a look at that. The first half says, “But first seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.” At my house we believe that is our job. Our job is not to worry about the second half of what Jesus said. Our job is to seek the Kingdom and seek the righteousness of God. What is the effect? The effect is, Jesus said, “All the things will be added unto you.” You might be asking yourself today, all across the world, “Well, what does that mean? Does that mean I am going to make more money? Does that mean I am going to have more prosperity?” I don’t’ know. I know God is a giver of good things. He said, “All these things shall be added unto.” Which means every good thing that comes from above. Every great gift from God – He will add to our life according to His will, if we seek Him first. Him and His righteousness.

My prayer for you today is this. My prayer is just like Jesus said, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they should be filled.” I ray all over the world, today, that you are hungry, and thirsty for righteousness. If that is the cause, and you have a cause to seek God, and His Kingdom, then you get to sit back and watch what happens as you take action seeking God and seeking His Kingdom. It is not seek first food, or seek first sports, or seek first entertainment, or seek first our career, or our profession. It is to seek Him first and His Kingdom.

Let me pray for you today- that God would just fill you with His love and fill you and ignite you with a hunger for more of Him. Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray for people all over the world today. Let them become hungrier and hungrier for you. I pray they focus their eyes on you and seek you first – you and Your Kingdom. Lord, I also pray that as people are seeking you, and seeking your face, that you meet them right where they are and you meet them with their needs. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
