Hi, this is Matt Sorger with Matt Sorger Ministries, welcome to God Today. God wants to do a new thing in your life today. You may be a Christian, a believer, you believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. I want to say: God wants you. If you haven’t experienced it yet, God wants you totally free. When Jesus died on the cross, He didn’t just die for 50% of our freedom or 75% of our freedom. He did for 100% of our freedom which means we can be transformed, we can be renewed, we can be free in our spirit. Not just our sins are forgiven, but really free in our soul, in our mind, in our thinking, in our behavior. Even in our emotions. Total freedom in Jesus Christ.
How do we get there? How do we walk this process out? Many people think, “I accepted Jesus as my savior, therefore I should be perfect. Everything should be changed. Old things have passed away, old things have become new.” And they just think that everything, all at once, overnight will be transformed in their lives. Yes, your sins are forgiven, your spirit has been completely transformed and made brand new and that was instant. But then there is the process. The process of renewing, the process of transformation. And I want to give you a key today for your personal transformation and total freedom in Christ.
The Bible says this, “If two or more agree it shall be established.” The power of agreement is so important for us to understand today and for you to apply to your life. Now, let’s say the enemy tries to lie to you about something in your life. The enemy is the Father of lies. All he does is lie. He will try to lie to you about yourself. He will try to lie and tell you, “You aren’t really forgiven, you are not really free.” Something about your life. He will try to lie to you. Why? Because if he can get you to come into agreement with that lie, it becomes established in your thinking. Once it is established in your heart or your mind, he tries to hold you in it, he tries to keep you stuck in it, or captive in it.
What’s the secret? What’s the key? To know the Truth. This is why it is so important to open up our Bibles and read the Word of God. When you read the Word, it is the pure Truth. Truth enters into your heart and mind. And it exposes the lies of the enemy. Once a lie is exposed, now you have the ability to realign your thinking with the Truth of God’s Word and replace every lie with the Truth of God’s Word. As lies get replaced with Truth in your thinking, maybe patterns of thought, or even emotional responses you may live with – as those things are replaced with the Truth of God’s Word, you enter more into freedom, more into breakthrough, and more into the liberty, really the abundant life that Christ died to give you.
Let God’s Word be a light into your heart, soul, and mind today. And here is the thing. When you find a lie that has been repetitive in your thinking…maybe you feel like you are a rejected person. Maybe rejection has happened to you in life. So you go inward and you kind of pull away from people because of that past rejection. You don’t have to get stuck there. Find the Scripture, read the Scripture that says, “I am fearfully and wonderfully made in Christ. He loves me unconditionally. I am accepted in the beloved. I am perfectly accepted in Christ.” What will happen is, the more you begin to pray that truth and speak that truth, it will begin to reprogram, in a sense, the thoughts that go through your mind. As you do that, Truth will set you free. And Truth will keep you free.
Today, renew your mind on the promises of God’s Word. Let His Word be the foundation of what you believe about God and yourself. You will find your soul, your behavior, everything starting to line up with the Truth of the Word of God. You won’t just be free, you will really live free.
