Hi there. So today I want to talk about one of my favorite subjects, the control tower of your life, your mental health. How do you spend your time in your mind? Like what are you thinking about? What are you allowing in your mind? You know, God gives us scripture. He gives us the things that we should be thinking about.

Isn’t it amazing that as we were growing up, our parents taught us how to ride a bike, how to cook, how to do certain skills, but no one really taught us how to think. And I think it’s a very important skill to know how to think, because sometimes we just allow everything to come in and we entertain thoughts, and we end up putting ourselves in a very bad spot by just the thoughts that we are thinking. Have you ever noticed that if you start thinking bad thoughts or disgusting thoughts, you start getting even physical sensations because of the things that you’re thinking about? This is how powerful your mind is. It is so strong, but God is so good. He is like, I know you and I know what you’re capable of doing with that mind. So let’s control what goes in your mind.

And He gave us the book of Philippians 4:8. Let’s go there it says, “And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, what is honorable, what is right, what is pure, what is lovely and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” Let’s go through it again. “Fix your thoughts on what is true, what is honorable, right, pure, lovely, and admirable. And think of things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”  So if your thoughts are not any of this, they’re not from God, they’re not right, stop thinking about that because the only thoughts that get to stay in your mind are the ones that you allow. And so if they’re not in any of these categories, there’s an answer for you. And it’s in the book of 2 Corinthians 10:5-6. I’ll read that. It says, “We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.”  There’s a version that says, “bringing every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.”

So if your thoughts are not true, they’re not pure, they’re not honest, they’re not any of those things, in the book of Philippians, bring them to the obedience of Christ. Bring them captive. It’s your job as a child of God to say, this thought is not right. This thought is not of God, so I bring it captive to the obedience of Christ. It has to obey the word of God. Because if we let our thoughts go wild, they will play ball with us. The devil will play ball in your mind. He’ll have a playground in your mind because this is the battleground. So we need to put a guard on our mind. We don’t allow any thought that as long as the thought is in there, we just let it go wild, and we just entertain any thought. No, no, no, no, no, no. We put God on our mind. Some thoughts are allowed and some thoughts, no. We put a block. They’re not allowed. We bring them to the captivity of the obedience of Christ.

Can we pray? Father, I pray for every person that is watching today. I pray for their mental health. I pray that every thought that comes into their mind, Lord, let it be sifted by the word of God. Help them to keep thoughts that are pleasing to you, Jesus. I pray that every other thought that does not light up with your word, may it be brought captive to the obedience of Christ. I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen. I love you guys. Have an amazing day. Bye.
