Ask the Holy Spirit to explain to you what's going on in your mind, and take those thoughts captive.

A couple of weeks ago, I found myself worrying about things that probably weren’t even going to happen. I realized that it was a foreboding spirit. I was worried about things in my life, that the rug would get pulled out from underneath my feet. And I truly believe that I’m in a season of breakthrough. I believe that many people are in a season of breakthrough. I know that God is actually answering my prayers. And so all of these thoughts that I was having, I just felt a little crazy, and I knew that it wasn’t me, and I knew that I knew needed prayer.

I had some fears of the unknown. And that is just not how God created us. He has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind. But at that moment, my mind was not sound. I read the Bible, I pray, you know, I believe that I am faithful to Jesus, but this foreboding was really just irritating me. So I actually asked two friends of mine to pray for me, and it says, “Confess your sins to one another.”  Although I wasn’t sinning, I was struggling. And so they prayed for me, and the foreboding spirit left and my mind was clear again. I was able to sleep at night. I woke up in the morning feeling like myself again, feeling light and feeling free.

And so I just encourage you that if you have thoughts that are worrisome, if you are not able to think clearly, if you are worried about your future, I just want to remind you that God said He’s given you a hope and a future. And if you need to find a friend to pray for you, do that. Find someone to pray for you. Ask the Holy Spirit to explain to you what’s going on in your mind, and take those thoughts captive. Jesus is faithful. Speak His name over your mind and declare over yourself that you have a hope and a future.

So I just pray for you right now. I pray that you would step into a place of freedom. I pray that you would know how much you are loved. I pray that you would know that God is for you and not against you. You have a hope and a future, and He loves you. He just loves you so much, and He wants you to be free. So I speak freedom over you in Jesus’ name. Amen.
